Put the desk on the longest quiet wall, keep the door swing clear, and store depth off the floor so the chair can move.
Chair space decides the desk
A desk that looks fine on paper fails when the chair cannot push back. Leave a path behind the chair to the door. If the room is under about 8 feet in one direction, put storage on the wall and keep the floor for the chair.
